I recently got a mesh body, my first proper mesh body. I have always held back for a few reasons. One, being the cost, I really do not mind spending money in SL, but I try to control my spending very much. Two, there were so many to choose from and you really want to get the 'right' one, even if there isn't a right one. Three, there are many system layer clothing in my inventory that I still love to use and they don't have appliers, so until that can somehow get fixed, I am not sure I can use my mesh body exclusively. At one point there was a top I like that went with my mesh body, but I wanted to wear a system layer jeans so I actually hid the bottom of the mesh body, wore the right alpha and had both. Example below.

In the photo, the pants are system layer from Fri.day. I have always loved these pants, they are my go to jeans. The top is a Maitreya fitted dress/top. On the Lara hud I masked the lower and upper legs, as well as the pelvis. Then I wore a mask over my upper torso. So the lower half is standard shape, while the upper is Lara body. In the tummy it doesn't line up perfectly if you are paying that much attention, but with this top you can't tell. What you can see is how smooth the arms are compared to the legs.

Info: I have changed my shape a bit since I got the mesh body, so that it would look a way I would really like. These should reflect those changes.
